'A' Level RESULTS 2018

73% achieved one or more A* or A grade

31% A*-B

51% A* - C

The College continues to build on its recently sustained excellent 6th form results, and on last year’s record-breaking success. This year over 73% of leavers achieved one or more A/A* or equivalent in their A Level or BTEC Level 3 Diplomas.

Particularly impressive were results in French, Spanish, History, Art and Further Maths, all of which subjects achieved 100% A*-C this year. Of the BTEC subjects, 100% of students taking Engineering achieved Distinction or Distinction * results. Business (88% Distinction or Distinction *) and IT (90% Distinction or Distinction *) were almost as successful. 4 students achieved all A / A*s in their A’ Level subjects.

Rukhsana Sheikh – Principal of Ernest Bevin College is delighted with these set of results in a climate of increasingly difficult, linear A’ Levels, which feature reduced coursework and the ending of traditional AS exams.

Each year approximately 60% of Sixth Formers at EBC follow vocational courses and 40% follow traditional A Level courses.
