At Ernest Bevin College bullying is not tolerated and any incidents of bullying are dealt with swifty and consistently. Students are encouraged to report any concerns they have to a member of staff as soon as possible so that problems do not escalate. Parents can also contact the college in confidence to discuss any concerns they may have.
EBC SHARP reporting system (students can receive confidential advice or reports incidents of bullying etc)
During Anti Bullying Week assemblies and events take place to remind students about the college's policies to bullying and what they should do if they or a friend are being bullied. The theme this year is Power for Good with the aims of encouraging children, parents and teachers to use their power, either as an individual or collectively, to do good & put a stop to bullying.
The Anti-bullying Alliance defines bullying as the repetitive, intentional hurting of one person by another, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power.
Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or through cyberspace.
Each year students are reminded of the school's anti-bullying policies during Anti-Bullying Week (14th -18th November 2016) and with respect to online behaviour in assemblies themed around Safer Internet Day (7th February 2017)
